Traffic, traffic, traffic… Traffic???

I expected a lot after I talked with peoples who offer their maaaaaagic facebook-Twitter-YouTube-Mega-Super-Ultra-powers via fiverr. ‘I will promote your website to my loyal 10000000000000000000000 friends on facebook and my grandma’ – and more fantastic offers that -let’s be honest- sound too good to be true. Ok, they really shared the link or pic or vid on their facebook wall or did one or a few tweets, but is that PROMOTION?? So, what’s the result? Almost zero…

Of course, I didn’t expect a big hype right from the beginning – since a gallery of noses is, hmm, well, not that ‘normal’ type of fun. But after sending THE MESSAGE about ATISHOOO.de to (I did a math!) to more than all together (promised) 1,8 mio peoples, at least a few hundred must have a look at the site or the vid?! Nope…

Google Analytics says, the same amount of viewers from facebook, my blog and via Google as the days before. I can’t imagine all the fiverr offers that really have good feedbacks and are ordered again and again do not work?! Some might say AFTER visiting the vid or website, What the heck… – but almost no traffic happened at all?! So I can’t blaim it on the nose-idea, I actually think, a lot of these 30.000+ ‘loyal’ Twitter-followers are kinda bots, 100.000s of facebook friends dead accounts. Don’t get me wrong, I still think, facebook and Twitter etc. are good ‘promo for free’ tools, but they surely suffer, since a lot of automated ad-bombing software is spamming 24/7 the same woodywoody-enlargement, insurances, get-rich-in-a-week and other sh*** to real peoples, under kinda slow dead by drowning in this junk… So, it’s really really hard to excite people about a REAL thing, that needs a contrib by REAL peoples. Hard to get connected with you, folks! Everyone is thinking, hey this guy surely is tricking me on his site, he wants my money, let’s runaway fast…

Anyway, some people on facebook I invited to have a look at the gallery, were nice and we had a REAL conversation. Also, a short article on Jen DeLeon’s blog (she’s a nice VIP interviewer ^^) appeared – thx, Jen

Ok, still some offers on fiverr in progress I’m waiting they finally start sending peoples to the vid and the site. Will write about the results and then – let’s see…

The FIVERR madness…

Now, after some days impatiently waiting I finally got my video(s) for the ATISHOOO.de site. Had some nice chatting with the guy who made the clips; Sammy C aka Sam Cornwell. Aside that he’s a funny guy, he’s pretty kind too: I did a bad mistake in my script for the video – I’ve sent the wrong email address. But no prob for this man, he simply reworked the videos and had really understanding that sometimes sh*** happens

Ok, I already included the video on the starting page and also I hired some gigs on FIVERR.com to make some first promotion to the internet community with Twitter and Facebook. Also I was able to hire a radio station in the states that will do some ad for my project. I’m curious what turns out..

Btw., the NOSE-video can be found on Youtube. Actually it’s 2 videos that I will let rotate on the website. One week this one, one week that one. Both hilarious and really bringing over the ‘spirit’ of the nose-gallery. Have a look!

Hiring Sam

After I got some feedback from close friends as well as persons who saw the website for the first time, I decided to put some more first (and the most important) informations about the project onto the starting page. Some had problems to catch the basic idea.

‘..hm, I just saw noses – no idea, what’s going on here…’

Okay………….. ^^

So I will include a box in the middle of the screen with 1-2 lines plus the email address where to send the pics. Also -and that’s the ‘cool’ thing- I will include a short video. To organize this will take some days, maybe 1-2 weeks :/

But, I think it’s worth to wait. The video will present the ATISHOOO.de – idea in the extraordinary and damn entertaining way only available from Sam Cornwell, a sympathetically crazy guy from UK. He’s a well known character in the internet community with own vlog and a lot of crazy ideas… Google this guy !!!!

Fine, have to wait for this video now, meanwhile I’ll get in touch with the rest of the bloggosphere and try to find out, what the heck is facebook… ^^

Fighting with the facebook rules o.O

It’s not easy to use the wide field of social networking, especially facebook is kinda golden coin with a sticky side. You can get in touch with millions of ppl, but if you step ahead a bit too fast, you got hammered against a wall. After asking (politely!) a very few ppls via my facebook account to help me growing the ATISHOOO.de site, sending messages was blocked. How to speak to ppl if they cut the wire? I understand, there are a lot bots out there that spam ppls permanently on all social networks, but, hey, if these platforms work with antispam algorithms that can’t see the difference between spam and a message written by a human, how ‘social’ can I go? Hmmm, a minefield, so I rather leave them alone for a while and feel more comfortable in the blogsphere. Here I can be sure, in worst case a real person blocks me

The site is online now

New day, new task. The website ATISHOOO.de V1.0 is done, with the help of a -meanwhile- good friend who’s into webdesign. He has a damn good clue on coding I think. I often get stuck with this creepy javascript stuff. Hell…

Anyway, the site looks neat and works. Still a lot to include, especially the social plugins, but this will come step by step. Now it’s time to get in touch with some bloggers to see, if that idea catches some first attention. Some of my friends and some persons who already heard about this site via facebook/my buddies have sent me the first nose pics. Cooooool, seems to be kinda fun for them too. Weird….

One crazy idea…

That’s my first post on wordpress. So, sorry that I’m still stumbling when exploring the blog tech. Not easy to write if you are not a writer at all, especially when writing in another language. Mine is actually German, well, a challenge to write all in English now.

Opened this blog to write about the development of an idea. One of those, born out of a discussion between ‘specialists’ in a funny mood at the evening. It was about curiosities on the internet, such as the smallest website, the famous million dollar page, oneredpaperclip and the likes. Pretty spontaneous the idea came up, to create a gallery of untypical ‘art-objects’. First idea, toilets. Hm, not so yummy.. Next idea, mugs. Ok, already on the web. After that, a lot creativity (at least we thought it is)  went through the room. Finally an itching nose gave me a sign to let us stop to transpire even more rubbish.

‘…Folks, let’s make an exhibition of 10.000 sniffers. Or more. That’s one silly idea. So, it’s definitely worth to be done…’

Okaaaaay….. o.O

In a few words, that’s the story. Now I’m about to build a simple website, to host the gallery, to build this blog and I have to create a lot of gfx. The design still is pretty beta. But, it’s ok, just to give it a start. In a few days, I’ll put the stuff online, will invite some friends to present their noses and to catch some first attention on the web.

I really hope, this idea is weird enough to end up in 10.000 pics, maybe way more. Dunno…
